About Jaisalmer 

Jaisalmer is the ‘Golden City of Rajasthan’, India. Jaisalmer is located in ‘Thar Desert’ also called as the ‘Great Indian desert’ which covers more than 2,00,000 square kilometres forming a natural border between India and Pakistan. Thar desert covers 12 districts of Western Rajasthan i.e Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Jhunjhunun, Jodhpur, Jalor, Nagaur Pali and Sikar.

The major tourist attraction of Jaisalmer is the sand dunes. The ‘Sam Sand Dunes’ in Jaisalmer is the most popular region. The picturesque phenomenon of the sunrise, the ripples of the sand, the sunset attracts nature lovers and photographers. The costumes of the dancers, musical nights and the campfire also add to the beauty of the desert. Not to forget the stay in the camp tents.

Accommodation at Jaisalmer Desert Camp

The tents are designed according to the Rajasthani tradition. There are three variations to choose depending on your budget. Simple tents with beds and attached bathrooms, special tents with brick walls and decorated roofs (cloth) with modern bathrooms. The third is the luxury tents with wooden furniture and good bed.

Activities at Jaisalmer Desert Camp 

  • Camel safari : Most of them come here to enjoy the camel ride in the desert. You can add this in the package or plan it after going there.
  • Jeep Safari (dune bashing) : People going in groups or with family enjoy the jeep safari. People with Spondylitis and Slip Disc beware, it is risky.
  • Campfire : Every evening around 7:00 p.m, there will be campfire 
  • Cultural Activities : singing folk song and Rajasthani folk dance, along with some tea and snacks.

Monday to Sunday  – Mornings 4:00 a.m. to 6 a.m, Evening 4:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m.

Best time to visit Jaisalmer Desert Camp
October to March – summer’s are very hot 
evenings and nights are cool  

November to February – nights are cold,
the temperature drops to 8 degree centigrade to 10 degree centigrade.

Visit Duration 
Stay at least for two days to get a better experience.
