Jaswant Thada

Jaswant Thada is a Mausoleum or a Cenotaph located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan state, India. It is known as the Taj Mahal of Mewar.

History of Jaswant Thada

Jaswant Thada was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in 1906 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, after whom it is named. It was the burial ground for several rulers of Mewar. It is built out of sheets of pure white marble, intricately carved and polished which glows when sunlight falls over it. There is a beautiful garden and a lake in the premises of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II Mausoleum. Inside the marble building we see photos of 13 century ruler of Mewar.

Direct buses to Jodhpur are available from Delhi, Jaipur, Udaipur, Sirohi and Jaisalmer.

On  Reaching Jodhpur City You can take Government Busees or take shared auto rickshaw (Tuk-Tuk) to the Mausoleum which is 10 kilometres,  ₹10/ Person per Km
