Sri Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy temple located Mysore city. The temple is unique and found along the KRS road. The temple encloses the Lord Venkataramana and Goddess Padmavati statues. The Pooja system in this temple is the same as the Thirumala Thirupathi temple. The temple was constructed in the year 1937. The temple was constructed by Chikkanadasaru during the period of NalvadiKrishnaraja Wadiyar. 

The original place of Lord Venkataramana is believed to be Andra Pradesh and in accordance with the Agama guidance by Sri. Brahmatrantraparakall Swamiji the poojas will be performed. The mutt also gifted Utsavamurthy to the temple. The car festival will be held annually on Dasara day.

Mythological Importance of Sri. Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy Temple

Sree Ramanujachrya came from Tamil Nadu and started worshiping Lord Venkataramana at Tannur village of Pandavapurataluk. He stayed here for 82 years from 1099 to 1111. During his stay of 82 years, he used to worship the idol every day. Later he moved to his native after his departure a lady continued to worship the idol.

The person named Chikkanadasaru had a dream in that the Lord Venkataramana ordered him to re-establish his idol at new place. Next day chikkana dasari consulted the astrologer named Sri Sampath Krishna Jois and found out that the idol was in Tannur. He went to the place and re-established the idol of Lord Venkataramana

The architecture of Sri. Lakshmi Venkataramanaswamy Temple

The temple architecture is the same as that we can see in Tirupathi. It has garuda stamba at the entrance and Vishnupada below it followed by huge Gopura. Temple encloses navagraha idol of Lord Venkataramana and Goddess Lakshmi at garbhagudi.
