Shantivan - BrahmaKumari

Shantivan – BrahmaKumari is at Mount Abu, Rajasthan state, India.  The Shantivan Complex of Brahma Kumari Ashram was established in the year 1996, at foothills of Mount Abu in an area of 50 acre land.

Inside BrahmaKumari

As we enter inside the huge compound with big gates, we see ‘Prakash Stambh’ dedicated to ‘Dadi Prakashmani’ who passed away on 25th August 2007. People sit here and meditate. Next is the ‘Diamond hall’, opposite to the Diamond hall is ‘Shakti Bhavan’ which belongs to Dadi and is used as accounts office. There is also a ‘Diamond house’ where VIP’s stay during their visit.

Diamond Hall

 Diamond hall was built to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the institution in 1996. This hall can accommodate 20,000 people to hear the speech of the leaders during functions. There are so many LED screens put, so that people can sit and see the program going-on on the stage peacefully. If the crowd increases, the chairs will be removed so that people can sit on the floor.

Conference Hall

It is a small hall with a capacity of about 1750 chairs with AC facility. Here we see LED screen and there are small rooms on the left side where the translation of the speech is done immediately both in Indian languages and few Foreign languages. The corridors of the conference hall is wide and clean. On the wall of the corridor we see photos of VIPs who had visited this Ashram like Former President Ramaswamy Venkatraman, Gyani Zail Singh, APJ Abdul Kalam and others. There is a 100 feet tall flag post in the garden, opposite the conference hall.  

Dadi Prakashmaniji Spiritual Training Center

Here the new, 1 year old Bramhakumaris are trained by the senior groups. There is also a seminar hall here with a capacity of 150 to 200 seats where small trainings are held.There is a place for guest house opposite this training center.   

Prabhu Prasad Building

Here the seniors of the Brahmakumari stay. There is also a literature department building in the complex. There is a separate building for bathroom in which the ground floor is for the ladies and the first for the gents. The Kitchen and Dining hall building is not attached to the guest house.

Kitchen and Dining
It is a separate building with kitchen on the ground floor and dining halls are on the first, second and third floors.  The kitchen serves food for 12 to 15 thousand people almost everyday. Vegetarian food is prepared with different Indian cuisines –  North and South Indian. Diet is taken care of by the kitchen staff from being hygienic, less spicy and healthy. No fried junk, spicy food and aerated drinks are served in the campus complex. The food is cooked with solar steaming technology to keep it fuel efficient as well as to keep it healthy. Everyone is served the same food, there is no discrimination in the rank or class, from a normal worker to the dignitaries participating in the Ashram activities.

Diamond Cottage is for ministers to stay during their visit.
