About Birla Mandir
The Birla temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The temple is situated at the foot of Moti Dungri fort and was built by the famous business family of the ‘Birlas’.
The construction of the temple took place during the year 1988. The temple is built with white marble. On the outside you can see sculptures of numerous mythological themes and images of saints, Socrates, Zarathustra, Christ, Buddha and Confucius which manifests the secular nature of the temple.
At the entrance, over the beam, the image of Lord Ganesh is designed. The interior boasts of a large panel of marble depicting mythological proceedings.
The images of Lakshmi Narayana are sculpted out of a single piece of marble. Hence the temple is known as Lakshmi Narayan temple. The Birla temple has a calm and serene atmosphere.
The carvings, the architectural design and the luxurious garden are the major attractions.
Janmashtami Celebration
The birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated on the 8th (Ashtami) day of shravana or bhadrapada masa (Aug or Sep month). Sri Krishna Janmastami is one of the important festivals celebrated in this temple.
