Gokarna, Murudeshwar & Yana Caves Tour Package from Bangalore
A Fuller 4-Day, 3-Night Journey Along Karnataka's Coast — Sacred Shiva Shrines, Ancient Rock Caves and a Thundering Waterfall
Karnataka's Coast, Given a Fourth Day
This extended 4-day, 3-night version of our Gokarna & Murudeshwar trip is built for travellers who want more than a quick coastal weekend. It still covers the classic stops — the Mahabaleshwar Temple and Om Beach in Gokarna, and the giant Shiva statue and temple at Murudeshwar — but adds two genuinely different landscapes: the eerie black limestone spires of Yana, and Jog Falls, one of India's tallest tiered waterfalls, tucked into the Western Ghats a few hours inland.
The extra time also allows a scenic detour along the Karwar coastline, taking in Devbagh's quiet backwater beach and the Rabindranath Tagore Beach, plus a stop at Mirjan Fort, a 17th-century laterite fort linked to the region's historic pepper and spice trade. Together, these additions turn a quick beach-and-temple weekend into a fuller look at coastal Karnataka's caves, waterfalls, forts and shoreline.
Why Choose This 4-Day Version?
One Short Trip also runs a shorter 2-3 day Gokarna & Murudeshwar package covering the coast's core temples and beaches. This extended version exists for travellers who want to add Yana's rock caves and Jog Falls without feeling rushed.
Yana Caves Included
The eerie black limestone spires and cave shrine at Yana, not part of our shorter Gokarna & Murudeshwar package.
Jog Falls Detour
One of India's tallest waterfalls, reached as a full side-trip from the coast.
Mirjan Fort Stop
A 17th-century laterite fort on the Karwar coast, linked to the historic spice trade.
Karwar Coastline
Devbagh's backwater beach and Rabindranath Tagore Beach, beyond Gokarna's own shoreline.
A More Relaxed Pace
Core Gokarna and Murudeshwar sights spread across the extra day rather than rushed into one.
Ideal for Nature & Heritage Lovers
Best suited to travellers who want caves, a waterfall and a fort alongside the coast.

What Each Stop Is About

Yana Caves
Two towering black limestone spires — the Bhairaveshwara and Mohinishwara shikharas — rising out of dense forest, with a small Shiva shrine tucked into a cave at their base. Reached via a short forest walk from the parking area.

Jog Falls
One of India's tallest waterfalls, where the Sharavathi River drops in four separate streams — Raja, Rani, Rocket and Roarer — down a Western Ghats escarpment. Best viewed from the designated observation points.

Mirjan Fort
A 17th-century laterite fort built by Rani Chennabhairadevi, once known as the "Pepper Queen" for her control of the region's spice trade with Portuguese and other European traders.

Devbagh Beach
A quiet backwater beach near Karwar where the Kali River meets the Arabian Sea, fringed by casuarina groves — a calmer contrast to Gokarna's busier beaches.

Rabindranath Tagore Beach
A long, uncrowded stretch of coast in Karwar town, named for the poet's stay here — a scenic detour on the way toward Murudeshwar.

🌤️ Weather Notes
October to March offers the most reliable weather for beaches, temples and the Yana forest walk. Coastal Karnataka receives very heavy monsoon rain from June to September, when Jog Falls is at its most dramatic but the Yana trek and coastal roads can be slippery.
Avoid: Scheduling the Yana Caves walk immediately after heavy rain, when the rock paths become slick and unsafe.
📍 Pickup Points
Please arrive 15–20 minutes before the confirmed reporting time. Timings can vary due to traffic, routing, group size and road conditions.
