Frequently asked questions

Which of these is easiest for a first-time trekker?

Kunti Betta and Karighatta are both well-marked, under 3 hours round trip, and popular sunrise treks close to Mysore — good starting points.

Is Mount Abu (Sirohi) really a hill station in a desert state?

Yes — it's Rajasthan's only hill station, a genuine climate break from the Thar Desert heat, roughly 4-5 hours from Udaipur.

Best time to trek in Karnataka's hills?

October to February. Monsoon months make the granite trails slippery, and peak summer (April-June) is too hot for a midday climb.
