From Mud Fort to Granite Fortress

Kempegowda's original mud fort has almost disappeared from the modern city. However, the granite fortification built during Tipu Sultan's period still preserves an important part of Bengaluru's history. The surviving gateway is made from large granite blocks fitted with impressive precision.
